Around 400 staff members including professors of Lyari Medical College has stopped working and resigned due to lack of security.
According to the principal of Benazir Bhutto Medical College Professor Iqbal Memon, Faculty members and other staff taken this decision in the meeting of Academic Council.
He said that cases of spoiling is increasing day by day in the campus and we will not resume our work until the government not providing security.
Professor Iqbal Memon said that cases of Sexual Harassment and spoling is rapidly increasing in the college.
He also said that these problem have been continuing for the last many months and we have written many letters to the Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah but no one takes notice.
Prof Iqbal Memon said that he had also been receiving threats and that the prevailing circumstances had put the future of college and students in limbo.
It is pertinent to mention that this college was built by order of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Notorious Gangsters of Pakistan Peoples Party (Zulfiqar Mirza Group) backed Peoples Amn Committee control the entry and exit points of the area. The Peoples Amn Committee (PAC) was formed by Rehman Dacoit a drug peddlers to extend his drug business in other towns and zones of Karachi. Rehman Dacoit was murdered in a fake encounter by Zulfiqar Mirza to take control of the PAC. Until now PAC is headed by Uzair Jan who is aide of Zulfiqar Mirza group.
