[/caption]Allama Iqbal Open University or AIOU is named after the name of the great poet of East Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal. AIOU was established by the ex prime minister of Pakistan MR. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1974. The idea behind the establishment of AIOU was to connect the new generation of Pakistan with the modern world of science and technology. AIOU is the best choice for the people who are committed to their jobs and can not leave their jobs , because AIOU is offering graduates and under graduates programs throughout the Pakistan. AIOU offers degree awarding and non degree awarding programs, M.Phil, PhD, doctoral program, short courses etc in the following fields of education:

AIOU has started Telecommunication engineering program in the affiliation of Institute of Engineering and Technology and by this it has become the Pakistan's second university that is awarding Telecommunication engineering degree.
